Klein
A view from 1939:
KLEIN, (3,224 alt., 850 pop.), a scattered
coal-mining settlement in the foothills of the Bull Mountains,
has a grimy, haphazard appearance. The Republic, one of the
larger coal mines of the district, supplies the coal used by
the Milwaukee's locomotives and shops in this part of the State.
Production averages 62,500 tons a month.
