A view from 1939:
FORSYTH, (2,515 alt., 1,591 pop.), the seat of Rosebud
County, was named for Gen. James W. Forsyth, who landed here
from a river steamer before there was a town and later wrote
A Report of an Expedition up the Yellowstone River in 1875.
Indians from the Tongue River reservation come here to trade
and visit.
