Corbin
A view from 1939:
CORBIN, (4,769 alt.),
mining and smelting camp in the boom days. Near Wickes
and Corbin are such gold and silver mines as the Alta, with a reported
production record of $32,000,000;
the Gregory, with $9,000,000; the Ninah and the Bertha. Most of
the important production came before1892, but the district is still
regarded as a potential source of silver, lead, zinc, andgold.
The Mount Washington Mine (visited on application) is 1 mile south
ofCorbin.
