A view from 1939:
WOLF CREEK, (3,560 alt., no pop.), is
something of a summer resort, with good fishing and beautiful
mountain scenery. It is at the entrance to WOLF CREEK CANYON.
The Indian name of the place was "the-creek-where-the-wolf-jumped-to."
