A view from 1939:
MELROSE, (5,173 alt., 380 pop.), in large part consists
of cabins that show the effects of time and storm. Nearby,
along Big Hole River, are many inviting fishing holes; from
Forty-five Bend, the best of them all, prize-winning rainbow
trout have been taken with light tackle.
