A view from 1939:
WOLF POINT, (2,004 alt., 1.539 pop), seat
of Roosevelt County, still exhibits the vigor of its early
days, when it was a cattle town. It was named for a high
hill that was a landmark for steamboat pilots. The Wolf
Point Stampede, a first-rate rodeo, is held each year in
July. The town has a radio broadcasting station, KGCX (1310
kc).
